Pakistan Independent day
The journey to independence was hard and people wanted to rule themselves. The All-India Muslim League, led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, helped create a separate Muslim nation where Muslims could govern themselves. The Lahore Resolution in 1940 called for independent states for Muslims in northwestern and eastern India. This was a turning point toward independence. After many years of hard work and many lives lost, Pakistan was born on August 14, 1947. It includes modern-day Pakistan and Bangladesh.
India Independent day
The journey to August 15, 1947, was long and hard. Indians from every walk of life made many sacrifices. The Indian independence movement used different strategies, including non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi and revolutionary activities that spanned decades. The efforts led to independence on August 15, 1947. Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, spoke about this in his “Tryst with Destiny” speech.
