Islamic Month Ramadan 2024
Ramadan is a month of significance for Muslims worldwide. It is a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection. This month marks the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.Ramadan is about spirituality and community. All adult Muslims must fast during Ramadan, except for those who are ill, elderly, pregnant, nursing, traveling, or menstruating. Fasting from dawn until sunset helps you be disciplined, think of others, and be grateful for what you have. The fast begins at dawn and ends at sunset. Muslims don’t eat, drink, smoke, or have sex during these hours. Suhoor is the pre-dawn meal, and Iftar is the meal to break the fast. Both meals are important social and spiritual events, often shared with family and friends.

Fasting is not just physical Labour. It is also mental and spiritual. Muslims should avoid sinful behavior like lying, gossiping, and arguing. It is a time to cleanse the soul, exercise self-control, and pray and read the Quran.
Laylat al-Qadr
One of the most important nights during Ramadan is Laylat al-Qadr. This is the night when the Quran was first revealed. It falls in the last ten days of Ramadan, often on an odd-numbered night. Many believe it to be the 27th night. This night is better than a thousand months. Muslims pray and reflect, seeking mercy, forgiveness, and blessings.
Taraweeh In Ramdan
During Ramadan, special prayers are held. People pray together at the mosque and read parts of the Quran. By the end of Ramadan, the entire Quran is recited in the Taraweeh prayers. The Quran make Ramadan more spiritual and help Muslims feel more connected.
Zakat and Sadaqah
Charity is important during Ramadan. Muslims must give Zakat al-Fitr before Ramadan ends. This helps those in need celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan. Muslims are also encouraged to give Sadaqah, voluntary charity, throughout the month.
Eid al-Fitr
Ramadan ends with Eid al-Fitr, a happy celebration that marks the end of fasting. Muslims pray, eat, and give gifts. It is a time to thank Allah for the strength to fast, to ask for forgiveness, and to celebrate with family and friends.
