Desi Month Assu 2024

Important Festival In Assu

Ashura ( 10 Muharram )

Ashura, which is observed on the 10th day of Muharram, often falls in or around Assu. This day is important in Pakistan, especially for Shia Muslims. It remembers Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, who died at the Battle of Karbala.

Navratri

Navratri is a nine-night Hindu festival It celebrates the goddess Durga. It usually occurs in Assu and is celebrated with fasting, dancing, and rituals across India. Durga Puja honors the goddess Durga and is celebrated in the eastern part of India, particularly in West Bengal.

Dussehra (Vijayadashami)

This Hindu festival marks the end of Navratri and celebrates the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. It is observed on the tenth day of the lunar month of Ashvin, which often falls in Assu. Effigies of Ravana are burned as a symbol of the victory of good over evil.
